North British Distillery

CITY CENTRE SMELL TO BE BANNED

The distillery has the unusual position of being right in the heart of Edinburgh, right next door to Heart of Midlothian football stadium, next to Murrayfield Stadium (home of Scottish Rugby) and next to thousands of tenaments; who all suffer from the nasal pollution of the plant. There is talk of moving the plant away from the city, just like all the beer producers – only one remains.

This project required a full day’s shoot covering the whole process from the arrival of grain, through boiling, filtration to distillation and eventual distribution to tankers or storage in kegs.

Photocomedia provided North British Distillery with high quality images to use for their new website and other future promotional material. Due to the high flammibility of the vapours in the distillery we had to work round some technical issues without our standard lighting equipment to capture these great shots.
