Photography - Editing
It is not always possible to create the 'perfect' image in-camera. If this were so why then would people spend hours using Photoshop or hours in the darkroom.
This is a basic explanation of some of the editing services we offer.
As software develops, more and more techniques are possible, especially with RAW digital files.
Native camera raw images are transferred from the camera to the Apple Mac drives. Once opened either in Adobe Lightroom or Apple Aperture adjustments are actioned to each batch. This is a time-saving measure to create a pleasant result. All the files are then converted to working JPGs and stored. It is not until the image is selected for use; either onscreen or print, that it is then assesed and enhanced with a variety software tools.

Other effects can also be introduced in Photoshop - the list is quite comprehensive and well worth investigating for the results that can be achieved.
We also use
Fireworks to produce the best optimised web file or to slice larger images; thereby giving faster downloads and better web experience.
Other edits include:
- Montage: using a variety of images to create one new image
- Perspective: lens distortions corrected
- Cube: six images
added to frame to create 3D cube
- 360 degree panorama: images stiched together for full spinaround view
-
Presentation: images animated to music, and with text and graphics
